Poem about water, from a Swari girl

Last week, Voss Foundation European Representatives Cecilie Malm Brundtland and Anette Krosby attended the opening of the Swari project in Samburuland, Kenya, along with some of the Norwegian women who helped to fund the water system through Women Helping Women.

We will post some more photos and reports from the trip soon, but thought you might like to see an original poem from the opening ceremony in the meantime. The poetry was read by Everline Zesamaja, a young girl at the Swari Primary School.

We have to talk about water

- water is life

We have to think about water

- water is life

We have to dream about water

- water is life

We have to sing about water

- water is life

We have to drink water

- water is life

Without water there is no life.

Everline danced and interpreted the words as she spoke, in a beautiful presentation.

Please check back for more pictures and reports of the opening ceremony.
